Authentication

Learn how to sign in to the ResponderOne app and manage your account access.

Signing In

To access the ResponderOne app:

  1. Open the ResponderOne app on your device
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Enter your password
  4. Tap Sign In

Your credentials are provided by your department administrator when you are invited to join the platform.

Understanding Departments

In ResponderOne, departments (also called "entities") represent the organizations you have access to. You may belong to one or multiple departments depending on your role.

Single Department Access

If you belong to only one department:

  • After signing in, you'll be automatically taken to that department's resources
  • The app will download all resources for offline access
  • You can start using the app immediately after the initial download

Multiple Department Access

If you belong to multiple departments:

  • After signing in, you'll see a department selection screen
  • Choose which department you want to access
  • The app will load resources for the selected department
  • You can switch between departments at any time from the Settings tab

Selecting a Department

When you have access to multiple departments, you'll see:

  • Department name - The official name of the organization
  • Your role - Your role within that department (e.g., Admin, Member)
  • Department logo - A visual identifier for the department

Tap on any department to access its resources.

Switching Departments

To switch to a different department:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab
  2. Tap Change Department
  3. Select the department you want to access
  4. Wait for the app to load that department's resources

When you switch departments, the app will download the new department's resources if they haven't been downloaded yet.

Password Management

Forgot Your Password?

If you've forgotten your password:

  1. On the login screen, tap Forgot Password?
  2. The app will open the ResponderOne portal in a browser
  3. Follow the password reset process in the portal
  4. Check your email for password reset instructions
  5. Create your new password
  6. Return to the app and sign in with your new credentials

If you're unable to reset your password or encounter issues with the portal, contact your department administrator for assistance.

Changing Your Password

Password changes are managed through your department's web dashboard:

  1. Log in to the ResponderOne web dashboard
  2. Navigate to your account settings
  3. Follow the password change process

Signing Out

To sign out of the app:

  1. Navigate to the Settings tab
  2. Scroll to the bottom
  3. Tap Log out

Signing out will delete your downloaded resources, signing in again will re-download them.

Security Best Practices

  • Keep your password secure - Don't share it with others
  • Use a strong password - Combine letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Report suspicious activity - Contact your administrator if you notice anything unusual

Troubleshooting

Can't Sign In?

If you're having trouble signing in:

  • Verify your email and password - Make sure you're using the correct credentials
  • Check your internet connection - Initial sign-in requires internet access
  • Check for typos - Email addresses and passwords are case-sensitive
  • Try resetting your password - Use the forgot password feature

Account Not Working?

  • Contact your administrator - Your account may not be activated yet
  • Verify your email - Make sure you're using the email address associated with your account
  • Check your status - Your account may have been deactivated
