Settings

The Settings tab provides access to your account information, preferences, and app management features.

Accessing Settings

To open Settings:

  1. Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the app
  2. The Settings screen displays your profile and options

Profile Information

At the top of the Settings screen, you'll see:

Your Profile

  • Department logo - Visual identifier for your current department
  • Full name - Your name as registered in the system
  • Email address - The email associated with your account

Department Information

Below your profile, you'll see cards with:

  • Your role - Your position (e.g., Firefighter/Paramedic, Admin, etc.)
  • Join year - When you joined the department
  • Shift - Your assigned shift (if applicable)

This information is managed by your department administrator and cannot be edited directly in the mobile app.

Settings Sections

Access ResponderOne's legal documents:

  • Terms and Conditions - Tap to open in a browser and review our terms
  • Privacy Policy - Tap to open in a browser and review our privacy practices

Both documents open in an external browser. Use the back button to return to Settings after reviewing.

Logging Out

To sign out of your account:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings tab
  2. Tap Log out
  3. You'll be returned to the login screen

What Happens When You Log Out

  • You're signed out - Will need credentials to sign back in
  • All cached data is removed - Downloaded resources are deleted from your device
  • Bookmarks are deleted - All bookmarks are removed and will need to be re-created
  • Secure session ends - Your active session is terminated

When you sign back in, all resources will be re-downloaded and you'll need to bookmark pages again.

caution

Logging out permanently removes all downloaded content and bookmarks from your device. Only log out if you're sure you want to clear all data.

App Information

At the bottom of the Settings screen, you'll find:

  • ResponderOne logo - Branding identifier
  • App version - Current version number of the app
  • Copyright notice - Legal copyright information

Checking Your App Version

Your app version is displayed at the bottom of the Settings screen. This information is useful when:

  • Reporting issues to support
  • Checking if you have the latest version
  • Troubleshooting with your administrator

To check for app updates:

iOS:

  1. Open the App Store
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Scroll to see available updates
  4. Update ResponderOne if available

Android:

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. Tap your profile icon → Manage apps & device
  3. Check for ResponderOne updates
  4. Update if available

Best Practices

Account Security

  • Log out on shared devices - Always sign out when using someone else's device
  • Protect your credentials - Don't share your password with others
  • Keep the app updated - Install updates when available for security patches

App Maintenance

  • Check version regularly - Ensure you're running the latest version
  • Update when available - New versions include bug fixes and improvements
  • Report issues - Use version info when reporting problems to support

Updating Profile Information

Your profile information (name, role, shift, etc.) is managed by your department administrator.

To update your profile:

  1. Contact your department administrator
  2. Request the information that needs updating
  3. They will update it in the system
  4. Changes will sync to your app on next update

You cannot directly edit profile information in the mobile app for security and data integrity reasons.

Troubleshooting Settings

Log Out Not Working?

If you can't log out:

  • Try closing the app completely
  • Reopen and try logging out again
  • If still stuck, uninstall and reinstall the app
  • Contact support if the problem continues
